About a year ago I vowed to pick up reading books for leisure again.
I have a library card and have actually checked out a few books. I registered for PaperBack Swap, an online community where one can trade books for the price of postage. I now have about 30 exciting books to be read on my shelf and maybe about the same on my online wishlist. I track my progress with WeRead. I joined a book club here that consists of much older women sadly and have returned to my favourite US city a few times to join my African Women’s Book Club in reveling between the pages.
I’ve done alright but I could do much better. Most of my reading has occurred on flights and I could really exchange some of that Facebook time for more stimulating reading fodder.
What I plan to do now is feature the books I have read on my blog. Not really to analyse or review them but just to say I’ve read them. The next post will feature all those books I have read in the past year. Moving forward, I will blog each book as I complete it.
