Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato

April 15, 2017 by KChie Leave a Comment

It has been a while since I wrote about my indulgences. But you need wait no more. If you are not aware of Talenti Sea Salt Caramel, allow me to introduce you. Of course, I do so with caution, for the last time I raved about an ice-cream it was soon discontinued. I miss you dear Häagen Dazs Five Ginger.

I cannot remember my first Talenti Sea Salt Caramel but it has been at least a couple of years since I first tasted it and now I don’t buy any other ice-cream, not even my standard Breyers Natural Vanilla and I don’t even crave Cold Stone Creamery concoctions (always sweet cream, Oreo & caramel) anymore. And since I now go through periods of eating a pint daily (brief periods, don’t judge), clearly it deserves its own blog post.

Talenti describes its sea salt caramel gelato as “rich, golden Argentine caramel base, filled with chocolaty sea salt caramels”. You can’t pretend that you are having a light dessert with this one. It’s downright sinful with 4 servings per pint clocking in with 240 calories and 11 grams of fat per serving, so clearly I know where my weight gain is from.

Never mind that. The plain-looking “tan brown” caramel gelato is unassuming as you easily grab a scoop. The texture is smooth and rich. It is salty and sweet. Before you know it you are biting into tiny cubes of chocolate caramel filled truffles. It is gelato with a serving of dessert. Seriously. These truffles are delicious on their own. Combined with the caramel gelato though, you are transported to the brink of heaven in a sensual experience. How do you try any other ice-cream after this? You can’t. It is incredible. Why are you still here? Go get yourself a Talenti Sea Salt Caramel gelato!
