Mango Season at Trader Joe’s

June 11, 2016 by KChie Leave a Comment

I just got my Trader Joe’ Fearless Flyer in the mail and I’m in heaven because it’s everything mango. Just read my Ode to Mango if you need any reminders for how much I love this fruit. It’s mango madness and I’m positively besides myself in excitement. Where to start?

Witjust-mango-slicesh my favourite of course. Just Mango Slices. This product is responsible for my inability to kick my sugar addiction. I just can’t. This is a bag of dried mango slices. Unsweetened, just naturally tree-ripened sweet and delicious. No single variety of mango is used but rather a mix, including Ataulfo and Kent. It apparently takes five pounds of mango for each bag. Oh my, but I can eat a whole bag at once! The only way for me to walk out of a Trader Joe’s store without this is if they are out of stock. And then I’m not a happy camper.

The flyer featured other products I’ve had that are good but not necessary in my life. These include the mango lemonade which I rather make at home, the orange peach mango juice which is more peach than mango, the mango & cream ice cream,  and the mango mango mochi.

The flyer also introduced a whole list of mango products at Trader Joe’s I haven’t even heard of. Amazingly, despite my love of mangoes, there are mango products I’m not interested in. For example, mango joe-joe’s, Mango Mango gummies,  mango coconut pudding, mango babka, and mini mango pies. I’m just not a pie and pudding person.

But I am salivating at the thought of mango macarons “using real mango purée” it’s a “mango cookie experience” to savour so says the flyer; sweet &  spicy mango dressing, and mango taffy. I’m intrigued by the mango ginger seed crisps as I absolutely love ginger, but I would need to take a look at this in the store to decide if it’s for me.

Off to Trader Joe’ I go before these seasonal products are taken off the shelves.
