I came across this FutureMe website in my countless hours of surfing the web today that lets users send emails to themselves in the future, anywhere from a day to 30 years ahead.
So cool!
I sent an email to Future KChie in 2015 asking her if she had reached her short-term goals: financial, personal, professional, and social. I instructed Future KChie to have paid off those damned student loans and at least have a POSITIVE net worth, even by a few hundred dollars!, to be happy, please?!, to better not be stuck in a private practice somewhere in the States (let’s get back to “saving the world”!), and ummm, at some point to have gotten married and started a family. Is mid-30s really too early to be on top of all that?
So cool!
I think, in a few days I will sit down and really think what the top 10 or top 25 things I want to accomplish by age 50 are, and outline them in an email to Future KChie. Maybe even ask what the world is like in the 2030s – global warming, HIV/AIDS, the obesity pandemic, the state of Mother Africa. I have such high hopes for the world.
This should be fun. Of course it will require that email is still a form of communication at that time and that I keep the same email address, but one never knows right?
A lover of mangoes. A woman - smart, without pretense, lefthanded, Afropolitan - navigating this thing called life. An unapologetic believer in social justice and karma. Choosing to radiate positive energy and be true to myself. Here, my musings.
This is so cool!! KChie, how I look up to you
P.S–I hope that when I also look back to this day on this page, I still feel the same way…HAHA 🙂
